Rosh Hashana / ראש השנה

Rosh Hashanah (Hebrew: ראש השנה), (literally "head of the year"), is the Jewish New Year. It is the first of the High Holidays or Yamim Noraim ("Days of Awe"), celebrated ten days before Yom Kippur. Rosh Hashanah is observed on the first two days of Tishrei, the seventh month of the Hebrew calendar. It is described in the Torah as יום תרועה (Yom Teru'ah, a day of sounding [the Shofar]).

Rosh Hashana begins at sundown on Sun, 02 October 2016.

DETROIT: Pastor Drapes Trump With Jewish Prayer Shawl That He “Prayed And Fasted Over” [VIDEO]

US presidential candidate Donald Trump received an unexpected gift from a Detroit bishop – a Jewish prayer shawl from Israel. Trump attended a church service at Great Faith Ministries in Detroit in an effort to court black voters. Bishop Jackson then bestowed upon Trump a Jewish prayer shawl and a pair of Bibles, saying: “This is the Jewish Heritage Study Bible, and we have it especially for you, and we have one for your wife. Because, when things go down, you can study the word of God. When things seem like it’s almost impossible, you will read Mark 9:23 – ‘If thou can believe, all things are possible.'” ABC News tweeted that the shawl was from Israel.

Firstly...............HELL NO!!! DO NOT DRAPE THAT FACIST, RACIST, MYSOGINIST CHEETOH IN A PRAYER SHAWL OF MY PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And who is doing it??? A BLACK MAN!!!

Given the controversies of Black Appropriation I am STUNNED by this.  AND they aren't Jewish but one of those nutty mega churches that like to preach the "Jewish Roots of Christianity".

The only Jewish Root you'd be lucky to get is Shlomo on a bad Grindr night.

I Found A Temple

Mazel Tov I  have a temple!

Tonight was first night of a set of 13 study sessions on Judaism.

The congregation B'Nai Jehuda in Overland Park is welcoming, engaging and humble.

I look forward to a long and Jewishly meaty life with my new Temple.
